Sexually transmitted infections, including vaginal infections and pelvic inflammatory disease, are discussed in Chapter 50. Many of the disorders result in actual or potential health problems requiring nursing care that is evidence based. To avoid repeating strategies and interventions for each disorder, they have been divided among the nursing care discussions as appropriate.
