Lucas, director of NASA\u27s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., has received — for the second time in his career —NASA\u27s highest award to a federal employee, the Distinguished Service Medal. He received the honor for his significant contributions to the success of the first Space Shuttle mission. Lucas, who earned a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from Memphis State in 1943, was presented the medal by NASA Administrator James M.
