A construção do lugar na cidade planejada: um olhar sobre Nova Jaguaribara

This article focuses the New Jaguaribara town (in Ceará state, Brazil), concerning the place itself, the key-conception of Human Geography that considers the importance of subjectivity, spatial perception feelings and sensations of being-world relation. New Jaguaribara was designed and built to shelter the inhabitants of old Jaguaribara, today overflown by the Castanhão artificial lake (built in the medium valley of the Jaguaribe river, Ceará). The main question of this research is related to the very building of the place by the occupiers of the new town. The occupier’s opinion through which was possible to decodificate feelings and perceptions of landscape and the territory. It was a relevant methodological tool, when linked to the cartography and observation of the town put together to iconographic and photographic records, obtained by the field research. The distance from the Jaguaribe river, an important variant of this research, the inflation of living cost, because of new urban equipments and the lack of an economical reestructure (although this item was assured by the New Jaguaribara project) resulted in the difficulty, perceived daily by the occupiers at the occasion they face the building of their place, in the new town. Jaguaribara territory.Este artigo apresenta a cidade de Nova Jaguaribara sob o viés do lugar, conceito-chave da Geografia Humanista, uma corrente da ciência geográfica que considera a importância da subjetividade, da percepção espacial, dos sentimentos e das sensações na relação ser-mundo. Nova Jaguaribara foi planejada e construída para reassentar os moradores de Jaguaribara, hoje inundada pelo açude Castanhão, construído no médio vale do rio Jaguaribe, Ceará. A pergunta norteadora desse texto é: como se dá a construção do lugar, pelo jaguaribarense, na nova cidade? Através da fala dos moradores, foi possível interpretar as percepções e os sentimentos com relação à paisagem e ao território, nesse novo espaço. Constituindo-se em importante ferramenta metodológica, sobretudo quando aliada às observações e à cartografia da cidade, os registros fotográficos e iconográficos obtidos no trabalho de campo. A distância do rio Jaguaribe, importante variável da pesquisa, o aumento no custo de vida, em virtude dos novos serviços e equipamentos urbanos e a falta de reestruturação econômica (embora este item estivesse assegurado no Projeto Nova Jaguaribara) resultaram em dificuldades cotidianamente sentidas pelo jaguaribarense, ao se verem a braços com a necessidade de reconstruir o seu lugar, na nova cidade.
