Agricultura familiar em várzeas irrigáveis do baixo curso do rio

A unidade temporal da pesquisa vai de 1970 a 2007. O recorte sócioespacial é várzea de Córrego de Areia, em Limoeiro do Norte, Ceará, Brasil. O objetivo é entender as relações das políticas governamentais, as técnicas de regulação (LIPIETZ, 2008), a modernização excludente (SILVA, 1999) e a reestruturação regressiva da agricultura familiar de várzeas com o grande agronegócio. Os resultados dessa fase exploratória da pesquisa sugerem que, em geral, o agricultor familiar não é exatamente um fornecedor do capital. Ele entrega, sem garantias, animais, frutas, legumes ou olerícolas aos operadores dos canais de distribuição pelo preço, condições, garantias e prazos que o distribuidor quiser pagar.
