Fenomena Catcalling Pada Mahasiswi Universitas X Di Pekanbaru (Studi Kasus Kepada Perempuan Korban Catcalling)

Sexual harassment, one of which is verbal in the form of unwanted comments about personal life, one of which is Catcalling behavior, the catcalling behavior is still underestimated and considered as something that has been culturally tolerated, even in normalization, the perpetrators of catcalling are usually called catcallers. The purpose of this research is to find out the reasons why this catcalling phenomenon can develop in today's society. So to find the answer to this research, researchers used a qualitative method with the type of case study research that is expected to explain in detail the phenomenon of catcalling, through observation, collection, identification and analysis related to the phenomenon of catcalling. The location that the researchers chose was the university x in Pekanbaru, because this phenomenon arose in the region. The conclusion of this study is that the victim's ignorance and neglect of the phenomenon of catcalling cause this phenomenon to continue to develop, social dominance and patriarchal culture also affect the development of the phenomenon of catcalling. To minimize this behavior, the role of several parties, namely the University, Government, the Office of Women and Children Protection, and the community, are also needed to take part in handling this case
