SEJARAH DAN MAKNA ARSITEKTUR MASJID JAM’I PITI MUHAMMAD CHENG HOO SELAGANGGENG MREBET PURBALINGGA ( 2005-2011 )

Architecture is a branch or part of art, which is included in the work of three dimensions and becomes human needs. Meeting the needs related to architecture is also related to the human self. Personally, socially, as well as his beliefs, so he created, bergam works of architecture. One of the architectural works that has cultural diversity in Indonesia is the mosque. In conducting this research the researcher used the historical method that the researcher had to do, namely, there were four stages namely heuristics, virification, interpretation, and historiography to examine the architectural form and meaning in the building of Jam'i Mosque Muhammad Cheng Hoo Selaganggeng Mrebet Purbalingga. The results of this study, researchers explain the form of ornaments that have meaning found in the Jam'i Mosque of Muhammad Cheng Hoo Selaganggeng Mrebet Purbalingga, which is influenced by a mixture of Chinese, Javanese and Arabic cultures. The form of ornamentation which has meaning in the mosque construction has seven architectural elements: (1) banji (swastika) motif ornaments on the wall. (2) Symbols of the moon and stars. (3) Upper palpons resembling spider webs. (4) The ceiling in the ceiling of the waterfall there is a four-star shape. (5) The shape of the front door of the mosque is treated as a circular door shape like a cave. (6) The shape of an octagonal ventilation glass whose holes are perforated by a small circle of eight. (7) Lantern lights are red and have a yellow color. The architectural form that emerged as the creation of an architect. Al-Faruqi said that in Islamic art there are six characteristics to the beauty in the expression of monotheism which include: Abstraction, Modular Structural, Suksexive Combination, Repetition, Dynamism and Complexity. Although they are general in nature, they provide an overview of Islamic art works in the PITI Jam'i Mosque Muhammad Cheng Hoo Selaganggeng Mrebet Purbalingga From the seven forms of ornamentation found in the architecture of the Jam'i PITI Mosque, Muhammad Cheng Hoo Selaganggeng Mrebet Purbalingga, there are Islamic values that are paired with Chinese, Javanese, and Arabic cultures, which are a description of architectural art that is in accordance with the art of Tawheed
