Go Green For Good White Paper

Workers all over the country are leaving their jobs at rates never seen before due to burnout, lack of flexibility and training, job design, value misalignment, and even toxic workplaces, among others. The pandemic has provided an opportunity for many employees to contemplate the meaning of work and what qualities in a company are important to them. Organizations need to understand this phenomenon and tap into the minds of their employees to see what they value today. Green culture is a relatively new and unstudied concept in academic literature. However, companies across the United States have recently begun implementing sustainability and environmental aspects into their organizational culture. Therefore, it is important that the concept and its potential applications are better understood by business leaders and academic scholars. Through in-depth interviews with 11 employees from a leading aluminum packaging company, this study provides insights into key perceived and experienced aspects of green culture and the influence green culture has on employee commitment. Results of the study are discussed and compiled into a white paper and LinkedIn Learning style video for companies to utilize in efforts to reduce turnover and attract the best talent
