The Relationship Between Perfectionism Traits and Parenting in the Family

Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot, kā vecāku audzināšanas stili un ģimenes perfekcionisms saistās ar indivīda perfekcionisma dimensijām. Datu ieguvei izmantotas 3 pašnovērtējuma aptaujas – Vecāku autoritātes aptauja (Parental Authority Questionnaire, PAQ, Buri, 1991; Hibbard & Walton, 2014), Ģimenes perfekcionisma aptauja (Family Almost Perfect Scale, FAPS, Wang, 2010) un Frosta Multidimensionālā perfekcionisma skala (Frost Multidimensional Perfekctionism Scale, FMPS, Frost et al., 1990). Pētījumā piedalījās 84 respondentu (52 sievietes, 32 vīrieši), 18-40 gadu vecumā, vidējais vecums 26.26 (SD=4.96). Rezultāti liecina, ka pastāv statistiski nozīmīgas sakarības starp vecāku audzināšanas stiliem un ģimenes perfekcionismu – neadaptīvā ģimenes perfekcionisma rādītāji pieaug tajos audzināšanas stilos, kuros ir zema izrādītā vecāku atsaucība. Ģimenes perfekcionisms dažādās skalās statistiski nozīmīgi saistās ar indivīda perfekcionismu. Audzināšanas stili tieši ar indivīda perfekcionismu statistiski nozīmīgi nekorelē. Atslēgas vārdi: perfekcionisms, ģimenes perfekcionisms, adaptīvais perfekcionisms, neadaptīvais perfekcionisms, vecāku audzināšanas stili.The aim of the study was to find out how parenting styles and family perfectionism relate to the dimensions of individual perfectionism. Three self-assessment surveys were used to obtain the data: the Parental Authority Questionnaire (PAQ, Buri, 1991; Hibbard & Walton, 2014), the Family Almost Perfect Scale (FAPS, Wang, 2010) and the Frost Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (FMPS, Frost et al., 1990). The study involved 84 respondents (52 women, 32 men), aged 18-40, with a mean age of 26.26 (SD = 4.96). The results show that there are statistically significant correlations between parenting styles and family perfectionism - the rates of non-adaptive family perfectionism increase in those parenting styles with low parental responsiveness. Family perfectionism is statistically significantly associated with individual perfectionism on various scales. Upbringing styles do not correlate statistically significantly with individual perfectionism.
