This research note presents geochemical, geochronological and petrophysical data on the ophiolites from the Kizil Dagh massif in the Hatay (Turkey). They are formed by tectonites, cumulates, a sheeted complex and pillow lavas. 27 new analyses show that the chemical composition of the ophiolites is in agreement with the hypothesis of a partially melted pyrolite giving rise to a magma produced by fractionation processes. The provisional dating by K-Ar of gabbros from the southern part of the massif gives a middle (112.8 ± 4.0 m.yr) to upper (69.0 ± 2. 7 m.yr) cretaceous age; this age must be interpreted in relation to the metamorphic history of these ophiolites.
