EVALUASI PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INGGRIS DI ERA PANDEMI COVID-19 DI SMP MUHAMMADIYAH KOTA MALANG

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of English learning in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic at SMP Muhammadiyah Malang. The method used in this research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Collecting data using observations, interviews and documents, in which using five instruments; Human instruments, observation sheets, interview guidelines, documents, and recording devices. After the researcher collects the data, the researcher analyzes the data in three stages, namely; data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The validity of the research data uses triangulation techniques. The learning evaluation stage is a special stage that must be carried out by the teacher, in order to control the effectiveness of learning activities. So that teachers get feedback, which is used for the development, improvement and perfection of a program and learning activities. The results showed that. English learning activities in the pandemic era are carried out in a simple way, through easy-to-use application media, and using simple materials and language. English learning activities in the Covid-19 pandemic era are carried out online or in online networks. Teachers only evaluate students' knowledge and understanding during learning activities carried out online or online during the Covid-19 pandemic. The teacher's role as a facilitator in learning activities did not run effectively during the Covid-19 pandemic. This is due to the limited mastery of the E-learning media of students and parents, as well as the limitations of student communication tools which are the cause of the teacher's lack of effectiveness as a facilitato
