The thesis is focused on the characteristics of the third stage of Russian emigration and its position within the context of modern Russian literature. The introduction describes the unwilling migration of the people from their homeland and the difficult political situation. The core of the thesis is to draw on the life and works of two representatives of the third stage of the Russian emigration - Sergej Dovlatov and Eduard Limonov. I will focus on the major works of both authors, their relationship to emigration, the comparison of their lives, themes (real life, features of autobiography in the work, lives of the common people) and poetics (styles, Dovlatov's humor, Limonov's expressive lexis) of their works.
