Political foundation, or citizenship education?

The present thesis deals with the topic of civic education in both its general and also in relation to the amendment of the Act no. 424/1991 Coll., on association in political parties and political movements. It is introduces so called political institutions, which could contribute significantly on the topic of civic education and civic education for democracy and its principles. The topic of civic education is currently one of the priorities of European democratic states and hence nation-states, including the Czech Republic. Basic principles and goals of civic education and civic education for democracy are obvious. The problem of civic education in the Czech Republic is that it is not yet conceptually nor systematically defined and restricted. Against the background amendment to the law on political parties and political movements I have monitored the debate on civil political education for almost a year. With the help of interviews with the involved actors I am trying to explain their re-presentation of the topics discussed as well as their views on civic education in the Czech Republic
