This work deals with the education and training of elementary students for democracy. The main aim of this work is the analysis of educational forms and methods focused on the education of children for citizenship and democratic principles. The theoretical part deals with the specification and definition of the term citizenship and the possibilities of the education of democratic citizenship for the elementary students. The work briefly describes the conditions of the elementary students for the learning of citizenship education and democratic principles. This work focuses mainly on the system of elementary education; on the analysis of the educational programs for elementary schools, particularly cross-curriculum topics and the integration of the cross-curricular topic The Education of Democratic Citizen into teaching. The practical part deals with the methodological adaptation of the topics of The Education of Democratic Citizen in elementary schools. The aim is the creation of educational plans for children in primary education. The plans familiarize children with the principles of democracy, citizenship and human rights
