The article presents a review of the main theoretical perspectives that have been developed to interpret the strategic decision-making process of companies, emphasizing the debate between the economic and behavioral perspectives. The latter, however, has not yet fully investigated the wide variety of factors that influence strategic decision-making processes. Factors of influence can be traced back to psychological and social elements of the decision makers, such as social norms, emotions and environmental factors.
