Nursing plays an essential role in health care, as it manages, plans, organizes, coordinates and executes care. The role of professionals in relation to the neonate diagnosed with a congenital anomaly needs to be individualized and properly. The methodology used in this research was the integrative literature review, where seven articles found in the databases, VHL, Portal de Revista CAPES, Scielo and LiLacs of the last ten years were selected. In the results found, it was possible to observe that the diagnoses of congenital malformations have an impact on maternal and paternal mental health, maternal age also has an important relationship with the occurrences of these pregnancies.
