Introduction. Liver Cirrhosis is a chronic disease that is irreversible and characterized by necrosis of liver parenchyma further leading to fibrosis. It is a broad hepatic disease marked by fibrosis and the transformation of normal liver architecture into structurally aberrant nodules, according to histology. Cirrhosis can develop over a period of weeks to years after a liver injury. Cirrhosis affects some persons who are fully asymptomatic and have a normal life expectancy.
