The article focuses on how the Cecilian ideal of contemporary polyphonic church music was received in Slovenia. Its characteristics are briefly presented, and its implementation in the works of the leading Slovenian musical authority within this movement, Anton Foerster (1837–1926), is discussed.Članek obravnava, kako je bil cecilijanski slogovni ideal večglasne cerkvene glasbe sprejet na Slovenskem.
