The presence of intracavitary gauzes after the surgical procedures is a situation that generates important complications, with serious medico-legal repercussions. The objective of this study is describe the presence of a bladder foreign body as an iatrogenic complication. Two cases are presented, the first is from a 63-year-old man with a history of simple prostatectomy for benign prostatic hyperplasia who presents with episodes of acute urinary retention; and the second is a 65-year-old woman with a history of abdominal hysterectomy due to leiomyomatosis that presents with chronic pelvic pain and recurrent urinary tract infections.
