The research analyzes cognitive and linguistic development in early childhood, which is affected by the pandemic caused by Covid-19. The Development Checklist was used, which was applied to 30 infants between 3 and 5 years old, from the School of Innovation of the National University of Education, Ecuador. The research is qualitative in nature, based on the descriptive method. Among the results were stagnation in cognitive and language processes, little stimulation by families and sedentary behavior in the psychomotor skills of infants. It is concluded that compulsory overcrowding limits infant-infant and teacher-infant school socialization.
