Pengelolaan Dana Zakat Dalam Pemberdayaan Ekonomi Umat Di Baznas Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi

This study is motivated by the level of poverty recorded by BAZNAS in Kuantan Singingi Regency which keeps increasing every year. Because of the higher poverty level, so BAZNAS tries to do efforts to change the economic condition, especially for the people who are unemployment or unskilled so they can havejobs and skills. The problem formulation of this study is how the management of zakat funds for the people’s economic empowerment in BAZNAS of Kuantan Singingi Regency. The purpose of this study is to investigate the management of zakat funds for the people’s economic empowerment in BAZNAS of Kuantan Singingi Regency. The subject of this study isthe National Amil Zakat Agency or BAZNAS of Kuantan Singingi Regency at Jendral Sudirman street No.98 Taluk Kuantan. The object of this study is the management of zakat funds for people’s economic empowerment. The population in this study consists of amils, mustahiks and muzakkis, and the sampleconsists of 12 people. Data sources used are primary and secondary. Data collection techniques used are observation, interview and documentation. Data processing techniques used are data collection, editing and data interpretation. Data analysis techniques used are reduction, data display and verification. The results of studyshow that the total amount of zakat funds in 2016 wasIDR 8.759.862.369, in 2017 was IDR6.548.591.739, and in 2018 wasIDR 6.241.960.208. In the distribution,the total amount of zakat funds distributed in 2016 wasIDR 5.569.769.796, in 2017 wasIDR 6.214.877.500 and in 2018 was IDR 5.344.873, while the number of mustahikswho received aid in 2017 was 12.517 people and in 2018 was 9572 people. In the utilization of zakat funds, it focuses on productive businesses such as opening new businesses. And in the economic empowerment, BAZNAS experiencessome obstacles, they are: first, the mustahiks lack understanding about the concept of economic empowerment; second,the mustahiks misuse zakat funds for personal gain; and third, the inability in developing skills
