In the last two decades, prestige of political parties in developed countries plummeted. This phenomenon was characterized by decline in constituent support for political parties, which led to establishment independent political movements. This also occurred in Indonesia. Objective of this study was to obtain capture and explain the typology of linkage between political parties and constituents in Malang Raya in the 2009 and 2014 Legislative and Regional Head elections based on Thomas Poguntke and Kenneth M Roberts’s typology.
