The brief but significant biographical, contextual, and artistic relationships established between Violeta Parra (1917-1967) and Thiago de Mello (1926 2022) are analyzed, as well as the multiple networks they shared after 1961, when the poet was Cultural Attaché of the Brazilian Embassy, in Chile. Special attention is paid to the two creations dedicated by Violeta to the Amazonian poet: the burlap (arpillera) “Thiago de Mello” (1961) and the song “Siqueiro prisionero” (1965); as well as to the cultural support Violeta received from Thiago.
