From the forest to the stars, the Fernbank Science Center is a unique educational science resource center, classroom and woodland complex, and is part of the DeKalb County School System. Walk through the Fernbank Forest and discover some of the local flora and fauna, come to Science Night Out for an evening of hands-on science programming for kids and adults, or visit the Fernbank Observatory which houses a 0.9 meter (36-inch) Cassegrain reflector beneath a 10 meter dome, the largest telescope in the southeastern United States.
