Oral history interview with commercial fisherman Robert Cardin. Cardin, a native of Fort Pierce, began fishing at an early age and started to sell his catch as a teenager. He is extremely familiar with the Oculina Bank, having fished it frequently but not exclusively. He is also on the South Atlantic Fisheries Management Council\u27s Oculina Evaluation Outreach Team. After the bank\u27s closure, Cardin began working with a partner and has to take pains to avoid entering the restricted area. He works his way through different fisheries based on which fish are present, the potential for minimal by-catch, and price, changing techniques or locations when needed.
