Educators are continually evaluating and altering curriculuar [sic] programs to meet the academic needs of students with varying abilities and interests. The field of mathematics is no exception to this, being one of the fastest . growing and most rapidly changing of the sciences. Handheld calculators, microcomputers, and more complete mathematics sequences are stimulating educators to re-evaluate and change existing school programs. Many of the changes that are taking place in schools across the country are designed to enrich and extend the mathematics program for exceptional students
