The purpose of my project was to look into a less explored area of baseball analytics, by analyzing MLB batting lineups through simulations. This project specifically looked at the impact of moving the pitcher from the traditional 9th spot in the batting order, into the 8th spot, and it’s impact on run expectation. I used Monte Carlo Simulations and previous years data to simulate games and assess the expected runs for each team.https://scholarworks.umt.edu/grad_portfolios/1310/thumbnail.jp
