Hubungan Kadar Glukosa Darah Puasa Dan HBA1C Dengan Terjadinya Infeksi Saluran Kemih Pada Penderita Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2

Background : Diabetes Melitus increases every year and becomes threat for world health. Prevalence of Diabetes Melitus type 2 contributes 90% of the entire diabetes cases and it is one of the most developed by patients all over the world. The number of patients with DM in Central Java provincd increases annually. Urinary tract infection on patients with DM is caused by several risk factors such as age, period of developing DM, body mass index, sexual activity, and effort of controlling diabetes. Patients with DM with bad control generally causes urinary tract infection. Purpose :the study aimed at proving whether there is relation of fasting blood glucose level and HbA1c toward the urinary tract infection on patients with Diabetes Melitus type 2. Method :the present study used Analytical observation design by using case control to study the risk factors (fasting blood glucose level and HbA1c) toward urinary tract infection on patients with diabetes Melitus type 2. Result : Based on the score ofPearson Chi-Square = 0.762 and p=0.383 > 0.05. It means that there is no anyrelation of fasting blood glucose level and the emerge of urinary tract infection on patients with DM type 2. Analysis of Chi-Square showed that score of Pearson Chi-Square = 4.463 and p=0.035 < 0.05. It means that there is relation of level of HbA1c and urinary tract infection on patients with DM type 2. Conclusion : There is not any relation of fasting blood glucose level and the urinary tract infection on patients with DM type 2, asnd there is relation of HbA1c level and the urinary tract infection on patients with DM type 2
