Three-nucleon potential effects in spin observables of elastic deuteron-proton scattering

One of the main scientific challenges is to understand the variety of fundamental forces in nature and their features. There are four fundamental forces known; i.e. Gravity, Electromagnetic Weak and Strong. In nuclear physics, one desire to understand the nuclear force which basically is product of Strong force. The nuclear force act between nucleons (protons and neutrons). It has a strong attraction of the size of the nucleons which overcomes the repulsive electromagnetic between protons. However, the nuclear force is of short range and thus we cannot have a very big nuclei. Unfortunately, the nuclear force could not yet be derived from fundamental theories and one must make a model to describe the force. In order to make a model for a force, many data is needed. There are now over 4300 data available which make a good data set to testing the models. Base on these data which is collected as the Nijmegen data-base, a few high-quality models have been developed. Still, these models can explain phenomena involving two nucleons and they fail to predict the experiments involving three- or more-nucleon. It turned out that one needs to modify the two-nucleon force by adding three- or more-force. Unfortunately, there are a few data exist for three nucleon systems and one needs more data to be able to improve the quality of the three-nucleon force. It was the goal of this ph.d. research to study the three-nucleon force through a three-nucleon scattering. We showed that some parts of the three-nucleon forces need to be corrected
