The paper presents preliminary analyses of possibility to build a mathematical model of the synchronous generator taking into account the parameter uncertainty. Transient states of a tested power system containing distributed sources were analysed with use of the mathematical model worked out. The parameter uncertainty of the synchronous generator mathematical model is determined by probability distribution of the given parameter occurrence. The probability distributions were determined on a basis of the analysis of the catalogue data of mass manufactured generating unit elements being components of distributed sources.
