INTRODUCTION Sleep disorders are a common and underestimated problem causing educational difficulties. Therefore, the objective of this study was to assess the impact of sleep quality on students' academic performance and everyday activity. MATERIAL AND METHODS 511 students (31.5% male, 68.5% of women aged 21.7 ± 1.17 years) of the Silesian Medical School were tested by use of a questionnaire. RESULTS The average value of JS was 30.8 ± 4.99 and was correlated with academic performance (r = -0.18, p < 0.0001). 42.8% of students were sleepy during classes 3 or more times per week.
