Implementing the conclusions of the new regional policy, among others concep-tions of place-based approach and development of underutilized potentials in all regions, the paper conduct delimitation of Western Sudeten mountainous area and assessed en-dogenous demographic resources. Aim of the work is the answer to the question: Is en-dogenous demographic resources designated mountainous area need to be reinforced? As a response to the problems which results of the study envisage, compensatory measures was recommended
