Wpływ handlu zagranicznego na wzrost gospodarczy Polski w okresie transformacji (próba oceny)

This paper is an attempt to assess the impact of foreign trade on the economic growth rate in Poland during the transition period. First, it discusses main reforms in the field of foreign exchange. Secondly, the criteria of the assessment of foreign trade policy are discussed. Confronting the results of these two analyses one can observe that there is a liberal system in this field in Poland and due to this, according to theory there should be positive impact on foreign trade. However, the role of foreign trade in Poland has been morę noticeable in appeasing fluctuations in domestic demand rather than in influencing economic growth. It might result from the fact, that not all factors, which are necessary to reveal all the positive aspects of liberalisation, were fulfilled
