The effect of using mind maping technique in social sciences teaching on academic success and retention

Bir devlet okulunda öğrenim görmekte olan ortaokul 6.sınıf öğrencileri ile gerçekleştirilen bu çalışmanın amacı sosyal bilgiler öğretiminde zihin haritası tekniğinin akademik başarı ve kalıcılığa etkisinin araştırılmasıdır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Niğde ilinde bir devlet ortaokulunda öğrenim gören 87 6.sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden deneysel model yöntemi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak başarı testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri uygulanan testlerden ve çalışma sırasında yapılan gözlemlerden elde edilmiştir. Araştırma kapsamında elde edilen bulgular yorumlanmıştır. Çalışmanın sonunda araştırma bulguları ışığında çeşitli öneriler sunulmuştur. The study group consisted of 87 6th grade students attending a public secondary school in Niğde. The research was conducted with experimental model method, one of the quantitative research methods. Achievement test was used as data collection tool in the research. The data of the study was obtained from the tests and observations made during the study. The findings of the research were interpreted. At the end of the study, various recommendations were presented in the light of the research findings.
