Bir devlet okulunda öğrenim görmekte olan ortaokul 6.sınıf öğrencileri ile gerçekleştirilen bu çalışmanın amacı sosyal bilgiler öğretiminde zihin haritası tekniğinin akademik başarı ve kalıcılığa etkisinin araştırılmasıdır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Niğde ilinde bir devlet ortaokulunda öğrenim gören 87 6.sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden deneysel model yöntemi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak başarı testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri uygulanan testlerden ve çalışma sırasında yapılan gözlemlerden elde edilmiştir. Araştırma kapsamında elde edilen bulgular yorumlanmıştır.
