Currently, new biomaterials are appearing in dentistry. Polyetheretherketone (PEEK), first used in the aerospace industry and then widely used in the medical field, particularly in orthopedic surgery, is trying to make a place in prosthetic dentistry. This work presents, in a first part, the different chemical, thermal, mechanical and biocompatibility properties that make this material interesting for a clinical application in dentistry. The second part presents the use of PEEK in the different fields of prosthetic dentistry whichare implantology (implant, abutment, healing screw...), joint prosthesis and removable prosthesis (partial and complete). The application protocols and the contribution of computeraided design and manufacture are d...
