El relato de guerra: Cómo el arte transmite la memoria del conflicto en Colombia

International audienceThe strength of art is translated into works of art, with a message that travels through the conscious, the unconscious, the experiences of each one of us, to speak of something universal, human, essential. The role of art in Colombia's current conjuncture period called post-conflict –or better said, the post-peace agreement– is to remind us of who we are, as emotional, rational and social beings. In the same way, art becomes a channel through which intimate narratives are transformed into a collective voice that denounces situations society refuses to live again.Through the analysis of the theater play Mujeres en la guerra (2001) directed by Fernando Montes, from the photographic work El David (2006) by Miguel Ángel Rojas and from the visual work of Juan Manuel Echavarría entitled Silencios (2010), the conflict narratives will be the starting point of the work and at the same time, will compose the work itself. Narratives that are conjugated with the aesthetic discourse, which reveals the humanity behind the conflict, discourse that constitutes possibly symbolic reparation of the victims. Art is present to remember that it is possible to vindicate the abuses suffered during this violent period, which has lasted more than fifty years.La fuerza del arte se traduce en las obras de arte, con un mensaje que viaja a través del consciente, del inconsciente, de las vivencias de cada uno, para hablarnos de algo universal, humano, esencial. El rol del arte en la coyuntura actual de Colombia –período llamado de posconflicto, o mejor, de posacuerdo de paz–, es el de recordarnos quienes somos, en cuanto seres emocionales, racionales y sociales. De la misma manera, el arte se convierte en un canal a través del cual se transforman las narraciones íntimas en una voz colectiva, que denuncia las situaciones que la sociedad se niega a vivir de nuevo.A través del análisis de la obra teatral “Mujeres en la guerra! (2001) dirigida por Fernando Montes, de la obra fotográfica “El David” (2006) de Miguel Ángel Rojas y de la obra visual de Juan Manuel Echavarría titulada “Silencios” (2010), se percibe que las narraciones del conflicto fueron punto de partida de la obra y, al mismo tiempo, el eje central de las mismas. Narraciones que se conjugan con el discurso estético, que revela la humanidad detrás del conflicto, discurso que constituye una probable reparación simbólica de las víctimas. El arte está presente para recordar que es posible reivindicar los abusos sufridos durante este período violento, que ha durado más de cincuenta años
