Examen clinique et tests posturaux en occlusodontologie

Relations between dental occlusion and posture present a growing interest for dental surgeons. It seems nowadays accurate to think about possible postural issues in case of an odontognathic pathology with side effects. We actually do receive patients presenting larger clinical syndromes than just the -ORL- system, and possibly even the posture. In the first part of this thesis you will find the relation between posture and the manducator apparatus. It will allow you to understand the impacts of the orofacial system o postural balance. In the second part my work gives the dentists the ability to find the postural disorders and measure its dental origin by simple clinical exams and postural tests easily feasible at the office. The goal is to be able to give a specific occlusal care when necessary. This approach is still new and is in need of fondamental and clinical research programs to enforce the knowledge of postural disorder causes on which depend therapeutic indications.Les relations entre l’occlusion et la posture présentent un intérêt grandissant pour les chirurgiens-dentistes. Il est pertinent aujourd’hui de penser à un éventuel trouble postural lorsque nous prenons en charge une pathologie odontognathique en présence de troubles associés. En effet, nous recevons des patients présentant des signes cliniques ne se limitant pas à la sphère oro-faciale mais pouvant aussi impacter la posture. Cette thèse évoque, dans une première partie, les relations entre les systèmes manducateur et postural. Elle permet de rendre compte de l’influence et des impacts de la sphère orofaciale sur l’équilibre postural. Dans une seconde partie, ce travail fournit aux chirurgiens-dentistes la possibilité de desceller un trouble postural et d’en mesurer l’origine dentaire par l’intermédiaire d’un examen clinique et de tests posturaux simples réalisables au cabinet. L’objectif est de fournir une prise en charge occlusale adaptée, lorsque celle-ci est nécessaire. Cette approche, encore récente, nécessite le développement de programmes de recherche fondamentale et clinique permettant de renforcer les liens de causalité dont dépend l’indication d’une thérapeutique
