The earthquake of 1575: representations and discourses in the general headquarters of Chile in the 16th century

El siguiente artículo se centra entorno al terremoto ocurrido en la Capitanía General de Chile el año 1575 y tiene como objetivos el identificar las representaciones que se generaron a partir del movimiento telúrico y pesquisar los efectos del sismo en la redefinición de los espacios en el proceso de conquista, para lo cuál hemos ocupado documentos de carácter gubernativo, es decir, reportes del gobernador, del cabildo y de los diferentes licenciados que vinieron a ejercer como oidores de la primera Real Audiencia.The following article concentrates surroundings to the earthquake happened in Chile in 1575 and has like objectives identifying the representations that were generated from the telluric movement and to search the effects of the earthquake in the redefinition of the spaces in the conquest process, for which we have occupied documents of governmental character, that is to say, reports of the governor, of the town hall and of the different lawyers who came to exert like oidores of the first Royal Court
