Reflexiones sobre el futuro de América Latina

The subject to be discussed in this article is that of Latin America and its destiny. It is a recurring theme in our minds and in our debates, often fraught with anguish. What are we? Where are we going? These are questions permanently posed in Ibero-America. The proposal of answers is the beginning of a formulation of our destiny. What most gives meaning to this conversation is the conviction that we must and can formulate a destiny for Latin America; that our destiny must be a creative act of the American man, an act of will, a task to be carried out by us or, to be more precise, by the youth of all Latin America. In our search for our destiny, we must rely on democracy, since only democracy can lead this collective effort.El tema a tratar en este artículo es el de América Latina y su destino. Es un tema recurrente en nuestras mentes y en nuestros debates, muchas veces cargado de angustia. ¿Qué somos? ¿Hacia dónde vamos? son preguntas permanentemente planteadas en Iberoamérica. EI ensayo de sus respuestas es el inicio de una formulación de nuestro destino. Lo que más da sentido a esta conversación, es el convencimiento de que debemos y podemos formular un destino para América Latina; que nuestro destino debe ser un acto creativo del hombre americano, un acto de voluntad, una tarea a realizar por nosotros o, para ser más preciso, por la juventud toda de la América Latina. En nuestra búsqueda de destino, debemos apoyarnos en la democracia, ya que solo esta puede conducir este esfuerzo colectivo
