Persons with spinal cord injuries and body composition depending on the altitude and the duration

Body composition of peaple who have spiral cord injury differs from healphy peaple (Liusuwan ir kt., 2007). After spinal cord injury patients loss prinal functions their body balance is bad and a lot others diseases apears like:moving functions, muscle weakness, BMI higher or less than normally should be (Dahlberg ir kt., 2003). Obesity – fat accumulation in fat cells that can harm human health and well-being. Main reason why pacients have obesity is disbalance between energy got from the food and used for human body needs (Isoma ir kt., 2001). Obesity is one of the reasons why people get heart, blood vesels, diabetes, may cause metabolic disorders, lung disease, cholelithiasis, incontinence (Spiegelman ir kt., 2000). The purpose: To investigate bodu composition of patients with spinal cord injuries. The implementation of this study was dealt with the following main objectives: 1. Analize patiens with spinal cord injuries body composition using groups devided by injury height. 2. Analize patiens with spinal cord injurieds body composition using groups devided by injury duration. 3. Find a patern between part of spinal cord injured, time from injury, and body composition. Contingent: there was 15 peaple I this survey. They were devided into three groups: spinal cord injury of top part, middle part or bottom. Methodology: Body height, weight and skin folds were measured for all participants. Measurments have been done using \"Jackson and Pollock 7\" kalip method. BMI was calculated using values of weight and height. Conclusion 1. The assessment of the body composition according to the height of the spinal cord injury, subjects with spinal cord neck-ends were more irregularities in the field of obese or overweight than the thoracic and the lumbar portion having irregularities. 2. The analysis of body composition by spin duration, mostly obese or overweight were those who most years has a spinal cord injury, all three surveyed groups. 3.
