This is an oral history interview with Holocaust concentration camp liberator Aurio J. Pierro. Pierro was a tank commander in the 3rd Armored Division, which liberated Dora-Mittelbau on April 11, 1945. His platoon found a fence with a gate and a barracks on the other side of the fence, which turned out to be the concentration camp. They went through the gate and the prisoners came out; when they realized that the soldiers were Americans, they started jumping for joy. Some of Pierro\u27s men wandered around on foot and directed him to look in a particular building, which contained several dead prisoners.
