Domenick J. Pecchia oral history interview

This is an oral history interview with Holocaust concentration camp liberator Dominick J. Pecchia. Pecchia was a member of the 63rd Infantry Division, which liberated Landsberg on April 29-30, 1945. While on the march, he and his squad came up to the camp and saw that the gates were open and prisoners were streaming out. Though they hesitated, their squad leader kept them moving away from the camp; they did not have the chance to speak with any of the prisoners. This was Pecchia\u27s only encounter with a concentration camp. In this interview, he also describes the Battle of Waldenburg, which happened shortly after he joined the division in Germany
