The article reviews modern experiences in the designing of detached wooden houses in Russia. Typical examples of wooden log houses and designs from Russian practice are presented. The main trends and characteristics of modern log-house spatial treatment are identified. Common features are revealed in the spatial design of modern log houses and traditional log dwellings
