Der Luqu-Ophiolith als Teil des Xigaze-Ophiolithsystems (Tibet) beinhaltet eine komplette Mantelsequenz aus frischen und serpentinisierten Peridotiten (3 Gruppen). Nach der Identifizierung sich im Gleichgewicht befindlicher Minerale, wurden mittels Elementaustausch-Geothermometrie, basierend auf den Zusammensetzungen verschiedener Mineralpaare, Gleichgewichtstemperaturen bestimmt: Fe\(^{2+}\)-Mg-Austausch in Spl-Ol (~660-680°C), in Spl-Opx (~780-850°C), in Cpx-Opx (~900-990°C); REE Austausch in Cpx-Opx (~1020-1250°C).
