ETIKA POLITIK AHMAD SYAFII MAARIF

The thesis entitled "Ahmad SyafiiMaarif's Political Ethics" was a research conducted to look at the ethics and morals of the political elites and public services, because authority must be given to wise people and if didn‟t it will be fatal, even approaching the destruction of a nation and country. Therefore, Ahmad SyafiiMaarif and also the father of the nation, has poured his thoughts and ideas as well as criticisms related to the political ethics of the rulers who have been separated from the ethical values of the Qur'an and Islam. In the political field, based on the various realities in this country, this nation is experiencing a leadership crisis at a very critical stage. The seats of power is filled with myopic politicians whose vision is very short. They prioritize personal interests at the expense of the interests of the nation. In this twentieth century man has lost God. Power and morals have been completely separated. Humans have lost their conscience in human relations. For this reason, this tesis will answer several problem formulations, namely: 1. How are human reletions, ethics, and politics. 2. How does Ahmad Syafii Maarif thinks about political ethics. 3. What is the relevance of Ahmad Syafii Maarif‟s political ethics thought in the Indonesian context. This research is type of library research using a historical-philosophical approach. The approach used the historical aspects that surround Ahmad SyafiiMaarif's thoughts on political ethics. There was an assumption that the results of his thoughts on political ethics cannot appear without his background and attachment to the situation that surrounds him. Therefore, also look at the philosophical values contained in it. Therefore, the result of this study indicate that substantively, political ethics cannot be separated from the subject of ethical actors, namely humans. Therefore, political ethics is closely related to moral discussion. Based on this, the notion of morals always shows that humans are ethical subjects. Thus, moral obligations can be distinguished from the understanding of other obligations concerning human obligations to other humans. With this basis, it will further strengthen the roots of political ethics that a good is always based on the nature of humans as creatures who always prioritize attitude and culture. Therefore, the actualization of political ethics must always start with a measure of human dignity and human beings. Ahmad SyafiiMaarif's political ethics, which is formed from the Qur'an and Islamic values in Indonesia context. According to BuyaSyafii, the Qur'an is a holy book of perfect moral guidance. Because the Qur'an organizes the entire network of human behavior, both individually and socially. The Qur'an also has the principles of justice, democracy, welfare and humanity in it. Meanwhile, Islamic values in the Indonesian context must be developed so that Islam in Indonesia is Islam that is friendly, inclusive, and able to provide solutions to the nation/state
