A short fiction movie Kim Soo Ri is a children’s movie based on the K-pop phenomenon. This movie tells a story about a girl named Sri that loves Korean culture, like K-pop and Korean Drama. It was made to remind us that even though we love other's cultures, we can’t forget and must remember our cultures as well. This thesis discusses directing the process of Kim Soo Ri's movie and how a phenomenon that happens in society become a short movie. Directing is the most important thing and having a scope of work throughout the production process. The director plays a role from pre-production to post-production to create a movie that suits the theme, story concept and delivers the message to the viewers. In this thesis, it is known that in a film production director’s job is not only in the production process. There is an element, film structure, and other factors that need to be mastered, also the director and other divisions in film production need to bond together and have good communication to know each other’s needs to create a movie with creative aspect and production budget
