Librarian accepts one pro-gay book

Judy Harold, Springfield’s Children’s Librarian, accepted one pro-homosexual book for the parents’ resource center using standard criteria. Three books were donated by OUTPAC, a statewide committee that opposes the recent anti-gay rights Charter amendment. The Oregon Citizens Alliance will support any parent who challenges the decision to accept “Daddy’s Roommate” for the library. The city’s lawyers agree that accepting the book does not violate the charter amendment because it is not an act of advocacy
