In order to understand and predict geomorphologic evolutions in coastal seas and estuaries a model is needed which describes the dynamics of the water motion, sediment movement and the evolution of erodible boundaries (like the bottom). The latter two modules require quantitative information about erosion, deposition and transport of sediment. The structures are constructed to the long one of the coast for some purposes and cause modifications in the natural environment with change of the circumstantial shoreline.
