Impactos Territoriais da Criação de Assentamentos Rurais: o caso dos PA s Timbó e Mata Verde Espírito Santo/RN

This study analyzes, from redemption of the land struggle, the territorial impacts due the stablishment of two rural settlements (Timbó and Mata Verde) here understood as "Territories of Hope in Espírito Santo, a norteriograndense town, located in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, in Brazil northeast. It is housed in the South Coast microregion, Potiguar East Mesoregion which means an area of 158 sq. km, equivalent to 0.29% of the state surface (IBGE, 2000). To do so, some methodological procedures were used, such as: literature review, secondary survey data and field research. Initially, a brief reflection on the peasantry and territories was performed, needful categories for understanding the permanence of the peasantry in a society modeled after the capitalist mode of production and the understanding of territorial changes resulting from the creation and implementation of agrarian reform settlements.Then, it was done a study of the recent process of spatial and territorial struggle for land in Rio Grande do Norte emphasizing the spatial distribution of land conflicts and territorial fighting by land through the creation of rural settlements. Subsequently, it was performed a sort of characterization of Espírito Santo focusing the recent organization of its agrarian space in order to identify the factors that provoked the creation of settlements located there, recovering the history of struggle that culminated in the creation of settlements, conducting a brief description of the territorial configuration of them. Finally, we present a description of the territorial impacts of the creation of Timbó and Mata Verde settlements.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível SuperiorO objetivo deste trabalho consiste em analisar, a partir do resgate da luta pela terra, os impactos territoriais decorrentes da implantação de dois assentamentos rurais (Timbó e Mata Verde) aqui entendidos como Territórios de Esperança , no município norteriograndense de Espírito Santo. O município de Espírito Santo localiza-se no Estado do Rio Grande do Norte, no Nordeste do Brasil. Está inserido na microrregião do Litoral Sul, Mesorregião Leste Potiguar e abrange uma superfície de 158 km² que equivale a 0,29% da superfície do Estado (IBGE, 2000). Para tanto, alguns procedimentos metodológicos foram utilizados, tais como: revisão bibliográfica, levantamento de dados secundários e pesquisa de campo. De início, realizou-se uma breve reflexão sobre campesinato e território, categorias fundamentais para a compreensão da permanência do campesinato numa sociedade moldada segundo o modo de produção capitalista e para o entendimento das mudanças territoriais resultantes da criação e implementação de assentamentos de reforma agrária. Em seguida, fez-se um estudo do processo recente de espacialização e de territorialização da luta pela terra no Rio Grande do Norte dando ênfase à distribuição espacial dos conflitos de terra e à territorialização da luta por terra através da criação de assentamentos rurais. Posteriormente, foi realizado uma caracterização do município de Espírito Santo dando ênfase à organização recente do seu espaço agrário buscando identificar os fatores que se encontram na base da criação dos assentamentos nele situados, recuperando a história de luta que culminou com a criação dos assentamentos e realizando uma breve descrição da configuração territorial dos mesmos. Por fim, apresenta-se uma descrição dos impactos territoriais da criação dos assentamentos Timbó e Mata Verde
