The Italian Concerto is an example of this transfer of idioms. It is written in the style of a Concerto Grosso, but is designed for a two manual harpsichord. Bach included dynamic markings to indicate the alternation of ripieno and concertina groups.\ud The Sonata in A Flat, Opus 26, is in the style of Beethoven's early middle period.
