Este é um estudo filosófico e histórico do argumento de EPR (1935), que defende que a mecânica quântica é incompleta, e tem sido alvo de intensos debates e críticas desde então. Examino a estrutura lógica do argumento, seguindo comentadores como McGrath, Chibeni e Wessels, e acompanho os primeiros debates envolvendo Einstein, Bohr, Schrödinger, Furry e Bohm. Estudando as primeiras tentativas de testar experimentalmente os chamados estados entrelaçados, aponto para as semelhanças entre a análise feita por Bohm & Aharonov (1957) do experimento de Wu & Shaknov (1950), para a polarização de raios gama, e a desigualdade de Bell (1964).
